Glóin, one of the thirteen companions of Thorin Oakenshield and friend of the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, is a notable figure in Middle-earth's history. Players will encounter Gloin in The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™.

The Free Peoples of Middle-earth have been eagerly awaiting Spring's balmy kiss, and at last it has arrived! This can mean only one thing: time for LOTRO's first Spring Festival! Players should visit the festival grounds beginning March 7 for some spring-themed celebration.
- Love is in bloom! Head to Bree to help with affairs of the heart.
- Get into the spirits! The Tavern League is back for another round with new shenanigans.
- Send a note of affection to that special someone... or maybe even catch the attention of a secret admirer!
So enjoy a respite from battling the encroaching Shadow, and take time to pick some flowers. Heroes picking flowers? Well yes, someone has to do it!
March 7 is right around the corner, so time to buy a new set of clothing and prepare!
Turbine's visited another popular spot within Middle-earth, Goblin-town:
Deep within the Misty Mountains lies the entrance to Goblin-town, one of the strongest goblin-kingdoms remaining in Middle-earth. Adventurers who explore here should be cautious, as Bilbo Baggins and his company of dwarfs can attest!

Turbine's shared another point of interest with us: Ost Elendil.
At one time there was no greater splendour in the North than Ost Elendil, the palace of Elendil of Westernesse in the great city of Annúminas. As the Shadow of Angmar stretches forth to seize the ruined city, the ancient seat of Arnor's kings may be too great a prize for this evil to resist.
Sounds like a place to be wary!

Book 12 hits the Lord of the Rings Online live servers tomorrow and after a recent interview with Executive Producer Jeffrey Steefel and Director of Communications Adam Mersky as well as a hands-on demonstration of the new content, we provide this preview.
"This is true in all games. Players are constantly torn between: do I get to wear the really, really fun goofy; or really, really elegant; or really, really flashy costume and get to look the way I want to look or do I get to have the armor stats that I need to go into combat?" Executive Producer Jeffrey Steefel asked rhetorically.
The outfit system is unlocked at level 20 and uses a combination of actual items and cosmetic items. Each player has a maximum of two outfits (essentially templates) to begin with, but unlike regular equipment, the actual item is no longer necessary once locked into an outfit. Say for example, a player finds a special robe they really love the look of, but it's too expensive to just keep and not the right fit for their character. They can add it to an outfit, save that template, then sell or trade that robe to another player. As long as they don't tinker with that outfit, they can show it off to the world long after the item is gone.
